At St Augustine’s Primary School, we are committed to nurturing a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for all members of our school community—students, staff, parents, carers, and visitors. Our Code of Conduct outlines the expectations for behaviour to ensure that our community reflects our values of respect, integrity, compassion, and responsibility.

1. Commitment to Child Safety

• Prioritise the safety and wellbeing of all children and young people.

• Uphold our zero tolerance for child abuse by taking all concerns seriously and reporting as required.

• Promote a culture where children feel safe, valued, and heard.

2. Respectful Relationships

• Treat all members of the school community with dignity and respect.

• Use respectful language and behaviour in all interactions—face-to-face, online, and in communication.

• Value diversity and promote inclusive practices that respect cultural backgrounds, individual differences, and abilities.

3. Positive Role Modelling

• Act as positive role models at all times, both within and outside of the school environment.

• Demonstrate honesty, compassion, and integrity in words and actions.

• Encourage and support students to develop positive social and emotional skills.

4. Safe and Responsible Conduct

• Behave in a manner that promotes the physical and emotional safety of others.

• Respect school property and the property of others.

• Follow school procedures, policies, and safety protocols at all times.

5. Professional Boundaries and Responsibilities

• Staff and volunteers must maintain clear professional boundaries with students at all times.

• Avoid behaviour or relationships that could be perceived as favouritism, special treatment, or grooming.

• Engage only in appropriate physical contact in line with our child safety policies.

6. Communication and Confidentiality

• Communicate openly, honestly, and respectfully with all members of the school community.

• Protect the privacy and confidentiality of students, staff, and families in accordance with school policies.
