The capabilities represent sets of knowledge and skills that are developed and applied across the curriculum. The four capabilities are: Critical and Creative Thinking, Ethical, Intercultural and Personal and Social.

Specialist teaching is conducted in the areas of Italian, Art, Music/Drama, Library and the STEM program.

The school has many strengths, which contribute to the high quality learning and teaching that takes place. We are proud of our dedicated teachers who work to ensure student’s needs are met and parents are kept informed on the progress of their children.

Staff at St Augustine’s recognize that learning takes place in a wide range of situations using many experiences. Events which allow children to learn outside the classroom include school concerts, art shows, an athletics sports carnival, cross country carnival, sacramental celebrations, dress up days, book fairs and parades, feast day celebrations, multicultural days, as well as excursion and incursions. Senior children compete in inter-school sports, enjoy a school camp and take part in community action events, such as serving morning tea to the elderly in our parish, taking school tours and visiting the local nursing home (normally occurring in non-covid 12 times) .

The children are involved in a variety of programs designed to provide for the needs of varying degrees of ability, experience and diversity. The children are challenged and encouraged to work to the best of their ability while respecting and valuing the rights of others.

The school population consists of children from many different cultural backgrounds. This is a real strength of our community and contributes to the development of all children. The school consists of two campuses. The main campus includes the administration building, classroom learning areas building and the junior yard. The second campus includes the specialist learning areas and the senior yard. There are 7 modern classrooms, Library, Music/Drama Room, a large hall and 3 indoor multi -purpose areas. The school’s surrounds have been revitalised and beautified by landscaped garden areas, yard art work, basketball court and two adventure playgrounds. Each play space includes passive play areas. We have a Resource Centre which is used by visiting specialists and we offer onsite Before and After School Care.

St Augustine's is a place where students, teachers and parents actively work together to provide a vibrant school community. We believe our school is a secure and stimulating environment in which children are given the opportunity to develop their natural enthusiasm for learning.

We welcome enquiries about enrolments for Prep to Year 6 at any time of the year.
